When I was a child, I had heard a photographer saying," Missed photographs are the best photographs." At that time he seemed to be right. Now even after four decades, his words still echo in my ears. His observation is still relevant even for those missed opportunities which at times make a lasting impact in our lives.
Having missed the Honours Banquet of the Photographic Society of America at Marriott Waterfront Hotel in Portland, Oregon, USA on September 6, 2008,I strongly feel that the missed annual conference of PSA was the rare opportunity to meet PSA functionaries, fellow members and above all I could myself receive the honour of APSA in person.
I could not attend this annual conference of PSA because of some personal reasons, but I shall never forget it.
I can only imagine this wonderful ceremony, but as told to me, while conferring the honour of Associate of Photographic Society of America upon me in absentia, my name and citation were read. It was a dream realised. For years I had dreamt of getting such an honour of the premier photographic organisation of the world and when the day came, I was unable to be a part of the celebrations.
However, I am grateful to all those well wishers who guided me and enabled me to realise my dream and aspire to make more achievements.
