Master Chetesh Wangnue, a student of class VI at DPS, Noida has broken new ground by turning his hobby of bird watching into a passion for photography thus getting recognition at international level at this tender age.
It was earlier this year that his first ever entry, entitled
as Rowing, to an international photo exhibition known as 14th Greek
Photographic Circuit was accepted in its Crete Salon. In this international
Circuit both professionals as well as
amateurs had competed irrespective of their age and experience. Also, this
Circuit had recognition of prominent international Photographic Organisations
including Photographic Society of America (PSA) and Fédération
Internationale de l'Art Photographique (FIAP).
Secondly, some of the images
of birds made by Chetesh were recently noticed
by Wildlife Photography Association of India (WPAI), which published them in
its Newsletter as an illustrated feature with a note by its Chief Editor.
Chetesh got inspiration to
take up photography as a hobby from his
maternal grandfather who is an accomplished photographer. It all began a couple
of years ago when Chetesh began to accompany his grandfather for morning walk and
birding at local Sukhna Lake in Chandigarh. When during one such walk Chetesh
expressed his desire to try his hand on photography gear, his grandfather happily
agreed. He first taught him basics of photography like how a camera works and
simultaneously he would take him along for practical training. It was during
those days that his grandfather gifted him his first camera, the mirrorless
Nikon Z 5 and lens Nikon Z 24-70mm f/4. As soon Chetesh began to show his
learning potential and ability to explore more his grandfather offered him his
own photographic gear like Nikon Z 6lll and Nikon Z 50 ll cameras as well as lenses
including Nikon Z 28mm f/2.8, Nikon Z 70-180mm f/2.8 and Nikon Z180-600 mm f/ 5.6-6.3. He used all these with
ease.
Now Chetesh is eagerly waiting
for his winter break as he knows Sukhna
Lake is a hot spot for diverse array of migratory birds who fly from far
off places as Siberia is.
