Marathon Runners

I had the opportunity to be present at the flag off ceremony of 21 km long half marathon for men near my home town. I, therefore, made this image to reflect its spirit.

Risking Childhood is my second image which has been accepted by National Geographic and displayed in the columns of Your Shot, dated April 8,2008. I was touched by two aspects in this image. First, a child’s life is being risked to earn livelihood. Secondly, there is a contrast between the life style of a poor family’s child and the one capturing the daring attempt with a mobile camera.

Against Odds is my first image which appeared in the columns of National Geographic’s Your Shot on November 28, 2007. I made this image while crossing a bridge over a river as I saw a girl walking up stream. This acceptance by the National Geographic was a good encouragement.
